Arsenal Take Back the Top – Ray Parlour and The George Light Up North London

Last weekend was one to remember for every Gooner. After a dramatic Sunday that had everything from shocks to celebrations, Arsenal climbed back to the top of the Premier League table — and where else would you want to be for it than The George Pub on Holloway Road, just a short walk from the Emirates Stadium.

On Sunday, October 13th at 4:30 PM, Chelsea hosted Liverpool in a highly anticipated clash that ended in pure delight for Arsenal fans. Chelsea put on a stunning performance at Stamford Bridge, defeating Liverpool 3–1, and with that result, the league table shifted. Arsenal, who had already done their job earlier in the weekend, moved into first place. North London was buzzing again, and The George was right at the heart of it.

Ray Parlour, the one and only Romford Pele, joined the crowd at The George London to watch the game live on Sky Sports. As always, his presence brought energy and a bit of magic to the room. Pints of Gunners Lager and the Best Guinness in North London flowed as Gooners filled the pub, singing and celebrating as the news spread that Arsenal were officially back on top.

This season has shown something special about Arsenal. The team looks sharper, hungrier, and more complete than ever. Declan Rice has been monumental in midfield, William Saliba continues to dominate at the back, and captain Martin Ødegaard is leading with class and composure. Mikel Arteta has built a side full of fight and belief, and you can feel that same passion in every corner of The George Islington, especially on match days.

Liverpool’s struggles underlined the shift in power this season. Chelsea’s victory not only helped Arsenal reclaim the summit but also gave fans belief that this might truly be the year the Gunners finish the job. The scenes at The George Pub, with chants of “We are top of the league,” captured the pure joy of being an Arsenal fan in North London.

With TNT Sports and Sky Sports showing every big game, and a legendary selection of beers on tap, it’s no surprise that The George Holloway Road is widely known as the best Arsenal pub in London. Add a Yard Sale Pizza from next door, and you have the ultimate North London match day experience.

As the league heats up, there’s no better place to ride the highs and lows of the season than The George, Arsenal’s second home. Ray Parlour knows it, and now the whole of North London does too — the magic lives here.
